Caroline Evans teaches children and adults from beginner level to Grade 8 standard, specializing in the more advanced grades.

Students are encouraged to play a wide range of classical composers from Bach to Bartók and up to the present day exploring the repertoire and understanding the different techniques involved. If students wish to sit exams they are usually prepared for the Associated Board examinations or, if preferred, follow the Trinity Guildhall syllabus. Examinations normally take place in March, July or November. Under Caroline’s tuition the success rate has been 97%.

Caroline believes in a goal-oriented approach. Whether studying for an exam, audition, school concert or private performance, the realisation of a personal goal encourages motivation, technical improvement and above all the enjoyment of music. An appreciation of the historical and social context goes hand in hand with the learning process and enhances the understanding and therefore communication in performance.

Depending on age and standard of the student, lessons last between 45 minutes and one hour. Typically there are twelve lessons in a term.

Caroline has a current CRB certificate.
